Nicole MillerPre Collections Fall Winter 2015 Pre Collections

Runway Review
12/13/2014 TeamFWP

“We called this collection Magic Carpet Ride,” said Nicole Miller during a pre-fall walk-through at her studio, which had been decked out with antique Persian-style rugs. The tapestry theme manifested in Miller’s busy Seventies prints on floaty silk tops and palazzo and bell-bottom pants done in a mix of rich colors like burgundy, violet and navy.

Focusing mostly on end-of-summer wardrobe pieces — though she was sure to include some light outerwear options in the mix, such as a suede jacket and vest — Miller added embellishment to her tops and skirts with beaded fringe, distressed detailing and embroidered appliqués. She also played with fabric technologies, such as raw-edged, woven tweeds; embroidered chain mail; printed powernet and 3-D printing.
