SiblingSpring Summer 2015 London

Runway Review

Music very often informs designers' inspirations for their fashion collections thus design trio Joe Bates, Cozette McCreery and Sid Bryan of Sibling used Madonna as the starting point for their Spring womenswear collection. The legend has served as a muse for many a fashion brand, thus it wasn't a huge surprise to see her serving as the impetus here. Madge's 80's looks were the ones recreated here, thus out of this world black bow headbands, graphics tees, black rubber bracelets, and printed brogues were on the menu.

The set is having a moment in fashion thus a black and white embellished printed sweatshirt and mini skirt, a white perforated and ruffled denim jacket and cutoffs, and a sequin-adorned cardigan and pencil skirt were among the collection's versatile and punchy duos. Crop tops and bandeaus were also on the menu of course, paired with a high-waist tiered crochet maxi skirt, an exaggerated flare mini, an open-knit pencil skirt, and much more.

The assortment was eccentric and whimsical: much like the way the industry describes London Fashion Week as a whole. Wearable, though not the least bit practical, Bates, McCreery, and Bryan created a fun lineup - a pretty important adjective to the young style set who already has their wardrobe essentials down pat.
