Stella McCartneySpring Summer 2015 Paris

Runway Review

One can always depend on Stella McCartney to bring pragmatism and rationale to fashion. She views her purpose as being an aid to on-the-go women and she really has built an alliance with those kind of stylish yet incredibly active ladies: mostly because she is one of them.

Her design philosophy was carried out charmingly for Spring — pieces she and her long list of fashionable friends and fans will be sure to wear as soon as possible. Some new and irresistible concepts were created, with easy silhouettes in abundance.

McCartney refers to this season's runway collection as "Summer", thus she aimed to embody the essence and energy of that balmy three months with beautiful and statuesque shapes and forms that were comely and symmetrical without hugging the body too close. A roomy empire-waist top was layered over capacious culottes, while the hem of an LWD showed a flash of thigh with a billowing skirt.

The brand has always done cool things with denim and Spring was no exception with a chic, button-front jumpsuit with long sleeves, a graphic motif top, a loose and unfortunately unflattering skirt, and a cool take on the classic jersey. Those aforementioned culottes in the classic texture and the strappy sandals which anchored the looks were instant wardrobe staples. Oversized buckles lent a utilitarian and functional air to the collection, accenting short-sleeve, button-front shirts, the straps of decorative frocks, and a long-sleeve topper with sultry draping and a plunging neckline.

Nothing exudes the relaxed and effortless nature of warm weather dressing like graceful dresses and separates with a hint of seduction and those were presented in cool and casual candy-colored plaids: pajama-inspired sets, ruffle-detailed dresses, a simple and chic trench, and a one-shoulder number that would make a perfect seasonal wedding ensemble.

McCartney is known for her knits, thus those were on hand with voluminous dresses accessorized with chunky chain necklaces, flowing tops, a fluid skirt with a sexy front slash, and a long-line tunic that was one of the most practical pieces shown in the assortment. A cutout-detailed ribbed sweater dress with double slits will surely pop up on a red carpet in the coming months.

Its no secret that the brand is a favorite of powerful women all over the globe and this lineup spoke to their bold and carefree sides. The sensuality was on high, as was the functionality: a runway collection made in sartorial heaven.
